Terms and Conditions for the Open Call: Cold Data – An Emotional Archive

Thank you for your interest in my project Cold Data – An Emotional Archive! To ensure everything runs smoothly and your contribution can become part of this unique archive, there are a few guidelines I’d like to share transparently. I hope you can understand that these points are necessary to keep the project fair and safe for everyone.

I, Patrick Wüst, am the artist and initiator responsible for this project. If you have any questions, you can reach me through the contact details provided on my website.

1. General Terms

  • You can participate in this project by submitting one image along with a corresponding text. Please use the submission form available on my website.
  • To protect your privacy, all submissions will remain anonymous. Your name will never be associated with your image or text.
  • I aim to create an archive that values respect and diversity. Therefore, I reserve the right to exclude submissions that, for example, contain racist, offensive, or discriminatory content. I’m sure you can understand why this is important.
  • To ensure your contribution can be included, please confirm that:
    • You are the original creator of the submitted image and text, and no third-party rights are being violated (e.g., recognizable individuals, logos, or copyrighted material without permission).
  • Technical requirements:
    • Your image file can be up to 5 MB and should be in JPG or PNG format.
    • The text can be up to 1000 characters long.

2. Use of Your Contribution in the Project
TUse of Your Contribution in the Project

For your image and text to become part of the art project, by submitting them, you transfer to me the rights to use them as follows:

  • Your image and text will be stored on slide film, making them durable for eternity.
  • The slide film will be shown at cultural or artistic events.
  • Your anonymized contribution may also be used on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook), on my website, or in press articles to promote the project.

Don’t worry: Your name will never be publicly associated with your image or text.

Please note that the use of your contribution is part of the artistic project, and I cannot offer financial compensation for this. I hope you understand that this is necessary to realize the project.

3. Your Right of Withdrawal

Of course, you can change your mind! If you wish to withdraw your submission, please contact me via the form on my website.

    4. Data Protection

Your personal data (e.g., email address) will only be used to process your participation, if provided. After the project is completed, I will delete any data that is no longer needed.

Your contribution will remain anonymous – your name will never be publicly associated with your image or text.

      5. Liability

I will do my best to implement the project smoothly. However, unforeseen issues such as technical failures may arise. I kindly ask for your understanding that I cannot assume liability for such cases.

        6. The Goal of the Project

The goal of this project is to artistically explore the value of individual memories in a transient, digital world. Together with all participants, a collective artwork will be created that preserves personal images and stories, showcasing the diversity of our experiences.

Your image and text will be immortalized on slide film, becoming part of this unique artwork. All submitted contributions will be made accessible to the public in an exhibition. The first edition, “Cloud Unplugged”, was showcased in March 2025. The next exhibition will follow once enough submissions have been received—date and location to be announced.

I look forward to you becoming part of this artistic experiment with your contribution, and together we will create a unique archive. I hope to see you at the opening of the next Cold Data exhibition. 😊
