Exhibition view Kreuzkirche, Wiesbaden, 4-channel video installation, 32:15 min, 2021

As the winner of the 2020 EKHN Art Initiative, I focused on the theme of “the others.” I asked myself how our world would look in the distant future if we continued to live as we do now. The 4-channel video installation was intentionally placed in the church windows of the Kreuzkirche in Wiesbaden to create a new type of stained glass window. My work thus provided a virtual view out of the church space.

The film is set in the Post-Anthropocene. The protagonist could be an artificial intelligence through whose eyes we view our own legacy. The question of whether our planet has just begun to recover from our actions or if it has become uninhabitable is deliberately left unanswered.
