If all the walls of the world – border fortifications, surveillance, and military walls – were lined up, they would stretch over 40,000 kilometers. This corresponds to the length of the Earth’s equator. The division of the world is therefore not just fiction, but a reality in 45 countries. In my film, I stage this form of walls as an architecture of horror, an architecture of oppression and division. To do this, I visited specific places where this form of architecture has played an essential role.
