Terms and Conditions for the Open Call: Cold Data – An Emotional Archive

Thank you for your interest in my project Cold Data – An Emotional Archive! To ensure everything runs smoothly and your contribution can become part of this unique archive, there are a few guidelines I’d like to share transparently. I hope you can understand that these points are necessary to keep the project fair and safe for everyone.

I, Patrick Wüst, am the artist and initiator responsible for this project. If you have any questions, you can reach me through the contact details provided on my website.

1. General Terms

  • You can participate in this project by submitting one image along with a corresponding text. Please use the submission form available on my website.
  • To protect your privacy, all submissions will remain anonymous. Your name will never be associated with your image or text.
  • I aim to create an archive that values respect and diversity. Therefore, I reserve the right to exclude submissions that, for example, contain racist, offensive, or discriminatory content. I’m sure you can understand why this is important.
  • To ensure your contribution can be included, please confirm that:
    • You are the original creator of the submitted image and text, and no third-party rights are being violated (e.g., recognizable individuals, logos, or copyrighted material without permission).
  • Technical requirements:
    • Your image file can be up to 5 MB and should be in JPG or PNG format.
    • The text can be up to 1000 characters long.

2. Use of Your Contribution in the Project
To include your image and text in the art project, you grant me the rights to use your submission as follows:

  • Your image and text will be stored on a cellulose film (Zelluloid) and permanently displayed as part of an exhibition.
  • The cellulose film will be shown at cultural and artistic events.
  • Your anonymized contribution may also be used to promote the project on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook), on my website, or in press materials.
  • Don’t worry: Your name will never be publicly associated with your image or text.

Please note that the use of your submission is part of the artistic project, and I am unable to offer financial compensation for it. I hope you can understand that this is necessary to make the project a reality. If a submission is not included (e.g., due to a violation of the terms), it will be deleted no later than February 16, 2025.

3. Your Right to Withdraw
Of course, you can change your mind! If you wish to withdraw your submission, you may do so until January 19, 2025. Please contact me through the form on my website.

After this date, withdrawal will no longer be possible, as the content will be integrated into the cellulose film. Since this film is a fixed and unchangeable object, individual submissions cannot be removed later. I hope you can understand this technical limitation.

4. Data Protection
Your personal data (e.g., email address) will only be used for processing your participation, if you have provided it. After the project concludes, I will delete all data that is no longer required.

Your submission will remain anonymous – your name will never be publicly linked to your image or text.

5. Liability
I will do my best to ensure the project runs smoothly. However, unforeseen issues like technical failures may occur. I ask for your understanding that I cannot accept liability for such situations.

6. The Goal of the Project

The goal of this project is to artistically explore the value of individual memories in a fleeting, digital world. Together with all participants, we will create a collective artwork that preserves personal images and stories, showcasing the diversity of our experiences.

Your image and text will be immortalized on cellulose film, becoming part of this unique artwork. All submitted contributions will be exhibited on March 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Kesselhaus on the Anschar Campus in Kiel.

I would be delighted if you joined this artistic experiment with your contribution and helped us create a unique archive for the future. I hope to see you at the opening! 😊
